He was previously at Frankly, Inc. (formerly Worldnow) as a Client Services Manager, where he advised and consulted on digital matters for dozens of local TV stations across the U.S.
Early career experience includes digital web producer and manager for Media General and Fox O&O stations. He previously ran his own hyper-local, online radio station.
James has experience weather forecasting, covering severe weather and developing broadcast and digital weather platforms. He studied at the University of Georgia and currently co-hosts a weekly weather webshow. He is a certified National Weather Service Storm Warn Spotter and holds an Amateur Radio license from the FCC.
James owns a DJI Phantom 2 Vision and has used it to survey storm damage, monitor traffic conditions, photograph landscapes - and even used it to record his own marriage proposal.
He supports establishing rules allowing certified operators to more easily fly safely for both personal and commercial use.
James lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife, son, and two pets, Mo and Ellie. He grew up on Long Island, New York, before attending the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga.
